Engineering software for worldwide radio stations
As a missionary, I am enabling others to share the Gospel via radio broadcasts. Using Jesus’ metaphor “fishers of men”, my role is to make and mend the nets that the fishers of men use on a daily basis.
A typical day for me may include the repair of a coworker's computer so that he can return to work designing and building radio equipment. Or, the day may include a team telephone call with fellow engineers in Quito, Ecuador who are working with us to develop digital radio equipment that will be used to broadcast the Gospel. Every single day includes sharing some bit of computer knowledge with others to empower them in their ministry.
While my focus in Elkhart, Indiana is technical work that meets needs overseas, I am looking for opportunities to travel overseas on short trips to help with installation of radio stations or repair of computer systems. In spring 2007 I spent six weeks in Quito, Ecuador where I was able to participate in both technical and face-to-face avenues of ministry. One particular highlight was speaking with listeners of a radio program called Spotlight, which teaches both the English language and Biblical principles to the people of Latin America. At the present I am only able to serve with HCJB Global part-time, and I am seeking more financial support so that I can contribute full-time and travel overseas more frequently.
I and several coworkers are renting an old farmhouse together in Indiana. I was born in 1980, and was reared in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where my parents and younger brother live. I graduated from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas with a degree in Computer Science Engineering in spring 2002.
My ministry outside of HCJB Global includes ushering and working with the youth group in my church in Indiana. In the recent past, I, along with coworkers and friends, have studied systematic theology to deepen our understanding of whom God is and His relationship with us. Now we are studying hermeneutics so that we are better equipped to interpret the words of the Bible.
Please pray for the following items: (a) sensitive and receptive hearts of listeners who hear the Gospel broadcasts, (b) continued blessing and progress for the work done at the HCJB Global Technology Center, and (c) for the Lord to call people to financially support my work with HCJB Global.
