Steve Higgins is founder and director of Expeditions Unlimited, a year round camp, retreat center and wilderness adventures ministry located here in Baraboo. He and his wife, Lynn and four children (Jessica-23, Jeremie-20, Ben-17 and Hunter-13) moved to the area in 2004 from Wheaton, Illinois when they acquired the property which is now the Expeditions Unlimited Adventure Centre. Steve and his family began the ministry of Expeditions Unlimited in 1987, offering custom-designed adventure eduction programs to churches and various other organizations. Providing a place away from the distractions and busyness of life, utilizing activities such as rock climbing, whitewater rafting, canoeing, backpacking, etc. to create teachable moments and developmental experiences where the gospel can be presented, Christian values can be taught and participants can be equipped with tools for Christian growth. This ministry serves a variety of groups from youth to adults.
Since its inception, Expeditions Unlimited has ministered to thousands of students and adults from a multitude of organizations in the Midwest area.
